Define: What Is Smoke Detector?
Smoke detectors are a crucial component of early fire warning systems, primarily providing early warning of smoke buildup during the initial stages of a fire. There are different kinds of smoke detectors based on their connection method, they can be categorized as addressable smoke detectors, addressable smoke detectors, optical smoke detector and wireless smoke detectors. While different systems cannot be interconnected, multiple linkable smoke detectors can be connected within the same system. This article focuses on programmable smoke detectors. what is conventional smoke detector?
Unlike programmable smoke detectors, conventional smoke detectors lack a unique address and cannot be individually identified by a central control panel.
Instead, they only indicate the approximate alarm area by the circuit or line they are located in. When an alarm is triggered, only the approximate area (e.g., “3rd floor east circuit alarm”) is known. Manual inspection is required to pinpoint the specific fire source, potentially delaying emergency response.
However, their most obvious benefit is the low initial investment cost, making them suitable for smaller locations.

TXC7101 smoke detector lighting rules
The smoke detector only senses and signals smoke and does not have audible or visual alarms. In different situations, the indicator light provides visual signals, as summarized below:
Monitoring: Red, flashes periodically; Alarm: Red, stays on; Ma-function: off or red irregular flashes
The light flashing frequency depends on the circuit capacity and is not a fixed value. The light flashing frequencies in the figure below are for reference only.

where to mount smoke detectors
1, The TXC7101 fire alarm smoke detectors can be installed on the ceiling, on the wall, or below the ceiling. However, the installation method depends on local regulations. For example, some regulations allow for both wall and ceiling mounting, so the TXC7101 fire alarm smoke detectors can be installed this way. For example, see the figure below:
2, TXC7101 hard wired smoke detectors are low-voltage, 2 wired devices that feature signal terminals.
Regarding installation drawings, although the TXC7101 hard wire smoke detector cannot be precisely positioned, it is still possible to connect them together. Please refer to the wiring diagram. Actual connection and use should be based on local regulations.

3, The coverage of a TXC7101 fire smoke detector is closely related to ground clearance:
Typically, the detection radius for installations under * meters is 9 meters, covering an area of 100 square meters.
the detection radius for installations between 6 and 12 meters is 6.7 meters, covering an area of 80 square meters.
The distance between two smoke detectors is designed according to local regulations.
